I am honored and excited to be serving as North Asheboro Middle School's (NAMS) Instructional Facilitator this school year! I am originally from the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area. I hold a bachelors of science degree in elementary education (k-6) from West Liberty University. I have proudly been a teacher in Asheboro City Schools for the past nine years. I spent five years in elementary education where I obtained such achievements as successful grant writing on numerous projects, Teacher of the Year at Lindley Park for the 2011 school year, and a member of Asheboro City School's first Teacher Leadership Academy cohort. I have been working in middle school language arts for the past four years. I currently hold titles such as lead mentor for our school, chair of our Response to Intervention Team, as well as co-sponsor for the poetry slam/story slam club Comet Conversations. One of my most honored achievements was to be named NAMS Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year, and then going on to get the title of Asheboro City Schools Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year. I am an avid non-fiction reader but do enjoy some novels. Some interests of mine are science, space, poetry, and slight of hand magic. Please click on the link below to check out my YouTube Channel!
